"It is a sad situation but we do our jobs the best we can to investigate these crimes,"?Womble told WNCN.

Police say they'll release the names of the people involved once family members have been notified.

The State Bureau of Investigation, which handles all cases involving police shootings, has been called in. Two?officers involved were not injured but both were?placed on administrative duty until the investigation is completed.
